Dolly Parton: I’m going to be the best 800-year-old you’ll ever want to meet

Dolly Parton thinks she would be "the best" 800-year-old woman of all time if she lives to that age.
The 70-year-old ‘9 to 5’ hitmaker has admitted she wants to stay young "forever" and is scared when she remembers her age but thinks if she was to live for many more years she would be the greatest old woman to have "ever" existed, and will be the person everyone will be desperate to meet.
She told Stylist magazine: "I wish I could stay young forever, I’m 70 now. The number is a little scary, but I’ve got a good attitude and I’m making the most of every year.
"If I live to 800, I’m going to be the best 800-year-old you’ll ever want to meet."
And the country singer plans to live every day like it is her last by filling her days with "productive and creative" things to do.
She explained: "I just want to make the most of the years I’ve got and fill them up with as much good, productive and creative stuff as I can, and I’m going to try to leave as much as I can for my family. So I’ll continue to work. But there’s no way to stop time – you just roll away with it."
However the buxom blonde has revealed regardless of her age she has no plans to retire any time soon and would only be inclined to stop making hit records if her or husband Carl Dean – who she wed in 1966 and remarried again this year to celebrate their 50 year anniversary – fell ill, although Dolly has admitted she would still perform and tend to her spouse if she ever needed to.
She said: "I have no intention of ever retiring. The only way I’d ever slow down is if my health fails, or if my husband was not well. But even then, if he was healthy enough to travel I’d just take him on the bus and have a nurse with me. I can take care of him and still do my work."
