Ricky Martin to play second show with Autism Rocks

Ricky Martin is to perform a second London gig in aid of Autism Rocks due to popular demand.
The 44-year-old singer was originally confirmed to be playing a one-off show in collaboration with the charity on September 23 at Hammersmith’s Eventim Apollo, but after being inundated with eager fans wanting to get their hands on tickets, another performance has now been scheduled for September 22.
The two-day ‘Autism Rocks Session with Ricky Martin’ event will mark the first of two ‘Autism Rocks Sessions’, with the second – featuring Grammy-award winning Nile Rodgers – taking place on December 23rd.
Speaking about the events, the charity’s founder Sanjay Shah said: "We are so pleased that Ricky Martin and Nile Rogers are lending their support to our cause. Artists of their standing can do so much to raise awareness of the condition and help us reach a wider audience.
"Autism is the fastest growing developmental disorder in the world. It is our wish that people have a better understanding of the condition and that people on the autistic spectrum are fully supported and able reach their true potential."
Ricky – who is best known for his catchy pop hit ‘Livin La Vida Loca’ – is currently on his ‘One World’ tour, and his work with the Autism Rocks charity means that British fans will get a chance to see him perform live, as the ‘Autism Rocks Sessions’ are the only UK dates he will be performing this year.
All proceeds from Autism Rocks’ UK events will go to the Autism Research Trust which raises money in support of the Autism Research Centre at Cambridge University.
Tickets for Ricky’s extra show are on sale now.
