Jake Quickenden on old X Factor panel

Jake Quickenden didn’t think there was anything "wrong" with last year’s ‘The X Factor’ judges.
The 27-year-old star- who appeared on the show in 2012 and then again in 2014 – thought big boss Simon Cowell, Nick Grimshaw, Rita Ora and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini did a "great" job with the contestants in the last series.
But he has admitted he’s really interested to see how new judges Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger, who have all sat on the panel before alongside Simon, will shake things up for the forthcoming series.
Speaking on ‘Lorraine’ on Tuesday (16.08.16), he said: "I think this year’s [‘X Factor’] going to be really good. Obviously they’ve got the new judging panel, well the old judging panel back … For me, I don’t think there was anything wrong with it last year, I thought it was great but they just have to keep reshuffling it so I’m looking forward to it this year. Sharon’s a bit of a character isn’t she, so she’ll be good."
Louis – who was dropped and replaced by Nick last year – Sharon and Nicole were pulled in to judge the new series after last year’s panel was slammed with heavy criticism.
Rita and Nick announced they had decided to step down after just one series after they were branded "inexperienced", while Cheryl – who has been on the panel on and off since 2008 – decided to bow out in order to focus on her music.
Meanwhile, the judges aren’t the only familiar faces set to grace screens this autumn as Dermot O’Leary – who was dropped and replaced with Caroline Flack and Olly Murs last year – has been brought back in as the presenter.
