NFL claim Adele wasn’t offered Super Bowl show

The NFL insist Adele has never received a "formal offer" to perform at a Super Bowl half-time show.
The 28-year-old singer claimed during her concert in Los Angeles on Saturday (13.08.16) that she had been asked to play at the star-studded event by the American football league association, but they don’t recall ever putting a concrete proposal on the table.
NFL, along with half-time show sponsors Pepsi, said in a joint statement: "We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl half-time show.
"However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else.
"We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time."
This comes after Adele insisted she had rejected an offer to perform at the event because it "is not about music".
Speaking at her LA show, she said: "First of all, I’m not doing the Super Bowl. I mean, come on, that show is not about music. And I don’t really – I can’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no."
The next Super Bowl half-time show will be held at Houston’s NRG Stadium in Texas on February 5, 2017.
Should Adele ever sign up for such an event she would follow in the footsteps of the likes of Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars, who all played last year in Santa Clara.
Madonna, Katy Perry, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Usher, Black Eyed Peas, Bruce Springsteen, Prince and Sir Paul McCartney have all performed at a Super Bowl half-time show over the years.
