Amber Heard was "ready, willing and able" to have her deposition taken at the weekend.
The 30-year-old actress had been due to be questioned under oath in her divorce and domestic violence case against estranged husband Johnny Depp, and though she was seen arriving at the Los Angeles offices of the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ star’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, she didn’t spend any time in the conference room where she was due to enter testimony, but her representatives insist it wasn’t her fault the legal meeting didn’t take place.
The spokesperson told TMZ: "Although she was ready, willing and able to go forward with her deposition, it was not taken by Johnny’s attorneys. She waited for 10 hours and at no time did Amber ever refuse to start the deposition. There was nothing preventing Johnny’s counsel from commencing the deposition."
It was previously reported the conference room had been set up, complete with a court reporter and videographer in attendance, as well as Johnny’s lawyers, but the representative didn’t explain why they would not want to question Amber.
Despite claims the ‘Magic Mike XXL’ star was 90 minutes late for the meeting, which had been scheduled for 10am, the representative insisted they confirmed Amber would be arriving at 11am, and she was then unable to enter the building because of the presence of paparazzi.
The spokesperson also told the site the 53-year-old actor’s legal team agreed his deposition could be taken on August 10, but they have now said he can’t make the date.
Meanwhile, Amber currently has a temporary restraining order against Johnny after she claimed he attacked her with an iPhone, leaving her with a bruised eye. She also alleges that "during the entirety of our relationship, Johnny has been verbally and physically abusive" to her.
The pair announced their divorce in May after just 15 months of marriage.
