Courtney Stodden has shaved her hair off.
The 21-year-old reality TV star – who was expecting her first child with her husband Doug Hutchison but tragically suffered a miscarriage last month – has decided to chop her long blonde locks off as a symbolic tribute to her dead baby.
Taking to her Twitter account on Sunday (08.08.16), the model uploaded a short video of her explaining her decision.
She said: "Hi everyone, as you all know I recently suffered a miscarriage and it’s had a huge impact on me emotionally.
"I’ve been thinking and I have decided that I want to give back to my angel with a symbolic gesture and that to me is shaving my hair off because I want to step into this new chapter into my life fresh and new."
Courtney then uploaded a photograph of her new hairless look as she posed in a leopard print string bikini and matching headband as she clutched a champagne flute.
Courtney’s decision to shave her head is just one of many tributes she has made to her "angel" baby as she previously uploaded a heartfelt poem addressed to the unborn tot.
Courtney – who was thought to be around three months pregnant – said at the time: "Never will I have the fortune to look into your precious eyes, I wonder what color they would have been. Probably blue like mine – like your daddy’s too. I’ll never get over the painful fact that I would be able to cradle you in my arms. I’ll never be able to rest my cheek on yours and tell you how much I love you.
"I’ll never get over this … losing you. I hope you know how much I miss you growing inside of my tummy. I hope that you know I wanted to give you life… a beautiful life – and desired so much to watch you grow into an incredible human being (sic)."
Courtney’s manager confirmed the miscarriage early last month after she set tongues wagging by posting an emotional cryptic message on her social networking sites.
Courtney married Doug, 56, in 2011 but split just two years later. However, they soon reconciled as she said she knew the actor was the one she wanted to spend her life with.
In May just gone, they announced they were having a baby and they also renewed their vows to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary.
