Jared Leto: The film industry is still ‘very conservative’

Jared Leto thinks the film industry is still "a very conservative business".
The ‘Suicide Squad’ doesn’t think its right that a gay actor wouldn’t have "the same opportunities" as a straight actor in Hollywood.
He told GQ Style magazine: "I definitely don’t think a gay leading man would have the same opportunities as a straight leading man. I don’t think that. Not for a single second. I don’t know if that’s offensive or not, but that’s my thought right now.
"It shouldn’t be that way. I don’t think you’ll have as many opportunities. And I think you could say the same for minorities … I think that this is still a very conservative business."
Meanwhile, the 44-year-old actor previously revealed he plans to "walk away" from acting eventually.
He said: "I think I could just walk away. There’s a big world out there. There’s a lot to explore.
"Some people have fun doing it into their 80s or 90s and there’s great examples of directors and actors doing wonderful work as they’re older, but I don’t think that I would. But what the f**k do I know? I have no idea. I think it would be interesting to explore other avenues."
And whilst he is considering ending his acting career one day, he doesn’t want to be without his music and would love to continue with Thirty Seconds To Mars for a long time.
He added: "I think of the band as an extension of our life. It’s not our job – it’s so much of who we are. I don’t. It’s so personal. I don’t think that it would ever really be gone. But I don’t know if we’ll tour the way we toured in the past."
