Saira Khan has ruined her children’s summer holiday.
The 46-year-old presenter was meant to jet away with her husband Steve Hyde and their kids Zachariah and Amara, who they adopted, this month but she was forced to pull out after she was asked to join ‘Celebrity Big Brother’.
Speaking on ‘Loose Women’ on Thursday (04.08.16), Saira’s husband said: "They know mummy is away filming. They’re eight and five but they’re missing her. I’ve got to manage the two of them. It’s school holidays, we’re supposed to be going away and mummy now can’t come with us. She can’t call or anything. Normally, she’ll be away filming and they’ll miss her but she’ll ring in and she’ll do FaceTime but they can’t so they’re finding it a bit puzzling."
Steve – who married the brunette star in 2004 – wasn’t initially keen on the idea that his spouse was joining the house but came round to the decision eventually.
He explained: "It’s a business decision. She took the decision. Initially my reaction was like, ‘Oo I’m not sure. This is going to be tough, you’re going to be quite exposed.’ But it didn’t take me long to come round to it. It is a risk."
However, it seems he’s now starting to regret that decision as he’s struggling to watch Saira lock horns with her fellow housemates and hates seeing her break into tears on screen.
He said: "I’ve had sleepless nights and I’m the calm one in our relationship but literally, the last week, I’ve been waking up at 3am/4am."
