David Ayer up for Suicide Squad sequel

David Ayer is keen to make a ‘Suicide Squad’ sequel.
The DC Comics movie is in cinemas in August and the 48-year-old director has already hinted that he is keen to reunite the anti-hero team because he loves the characters and thinks "it would be a lot of fun" to do another story with them.
Speaking to Deadline, the 48-year-old filmmaker said: "Look, it’s definitely the devil’s candy. I love high-stakes situations and I love the movie family we put together. I love this cast and I really love the world. I think it would be a lot of fun."
Ayer admits he is nervous about what comic book fans will think of his movie following the mixed response to ‘Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice’ which is set in Warner Bros. same DC Extended Universe and features Ben Affleck’s Caped Crusader in both.
However, he feels confident he’s got a hit on his hands following positive screenings.
He explained: "I think the institutional lesson of ‘Batman V Superman’ was, you have to put the film up for a large audience and see how it plays.
"I got the opportunity to do that a few times. I’m a big believer in audience testing. You have to listen to the audience. I think it really made the film a lot better."
In ‘Suicide Squad’, a secret government agency led by Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) recruits several imprisoned super villains to execute dangerous black ops missions on behalf of the US government.
The squad is made up of Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje as Killer Croc and Jay Hernandez as El Diablo.
The cast also includes Cara Delevingne as Enchantress and Jared Leto as The Joker.
