Temple of the Dog to reunite

Temple of the Dog are to reunite to celebrate their 25th anniversary.
The Soundgarden and Pearl Jam supergroup was formed in 1990 by Chris Cornell, Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready and Matt Cameron and they released their self titled debut album in 1991.
It turned out to be their only LP, so now they are reforming to mark the momentous occasion and will go on a five date tour.
In a statement, singer Chris said: "We wanted to do the one thing we never got to do … play shows and see what it feels like to be the band that we walked away from 25 years ago. This is something no one has ever seen. We wanted to stop and recognise that we did this and pay homage."
The group will play in five cities – Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Seattle – this November.
And on September 30th, a 25th anniversary reissue of the band’s self-titled LP, newly mixed by Pearl Jam/Soundgarden collaborator Brendan O’Brien, will be released.
Chris formed Temple of the Dog after the overdose death of close friend and roommate Andrew Wood, frontman of Mother Love Bone.
He said: "Temple was about making an album simply for the joy of doing it. We weren’t concerned what anyone outside of our group of friends would think of it. It was the first and maybe only stress-free album that we all made."
Though they never toured, Temple of the Dog have performed live several times over the years, the last time being in 2014.
