Simon Pegg’s butt grounding

Simon Pegg stays grounded by recalling the time he rubbed cream into his dog’s butt.
The ‘Star Trek Beyond’ actor admits he occasionally gets carried away with his fame but tries to stop himself by thinking back to the moment he had to give some much-needed medical attention to his pet pooch’s nether regions shortly before a glitzy film premiere.
When asked if he ever feels as though he’s acting like a Hollywood "k**b", he replied: "Yeah, occasionally. But you have to keep a check on it.
"I was on a red carpet a while back and half an hour before that I had been applying cream to my dog’s anus; she had a bit of a problem downstairs.
"Always remember your dog’s anus."
The 46-year-old star – who has six-year-old daughter Matilda with wife Maureen – no longer goes into pubs because he doesn’t drink and drunk people are often quite keen to hug him, but the actor insists he feels "grateful" when a stranger wants to talk to him.
Quizzed on whether he misses pub culture, he added to Time Out magazine: "I do, but I missed it before I quit drinking because I can’t really go into pubs now without some sort of little ripple.
"The more drunk people get, the more it lubricates people socially, so they’re inclined to hug me or something.
"You value it. When people come up and say hi, you always feel hugely grateful because it’s tough to do that.
"And you can’t really blame people for coming up and saying hello."
