The Grand Tour begins studio filming

Jeremy Clarkson was thrilled to film the first studio scenes for his new motoring show ‘The Grand Tour’ on Sunday (17.07.16).
The 56-year-old television presenter has showed off the luxurious studio he, Richard Hammond and James May will be using this week in Johannesburg, South Africa for their new Amazon Prime show.
In a series of tweets, Jeremy showed off the studio’s luxury surroundings.
He wrote: "This is it. The Grand Tour’s first studio day … I loved today …
"Some people came to see our first ever Grand Tour show today. God I love Johannesburg (sic)"
Whilst a post by Richard reads: "So, today we opened our new office. In South Africa this week. Next week … ? (sic)"
And James added: "I’m sorry, I forgot to wave. #GrandTour #Josie … Josie? Jozi? It’s still Jo’burg, and that’s well cool, so sod off. (sic)"
Meanwhile, it was Jeremy who broke the news that their motoring show was to be called ‘The Grand Tour’.
He tweeted previously: "Start the smoke. We have a name. So, the Grand Tour (GT for short) will come from a tent, which we will put up in a different location every week. Your town? (sic)."
Whilst Amazon explained why the name was chosen, adding: "After months of deliberation and lots of useful suggestions from the public, for which the guys are very grateful, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May have decided that, because they are taking their new Amazon Prime Show around the world, it will be called ‘The Grand Tour’.
"Not only will the guys travel to different locations, but for the first time ever the studio audience recordings will travel every week, all housed within a giant tent. Amazon customers will have the chance to be in the audience when tickets are released through prize draws this summer."
