Chris Hemsworth’s Star Trek return

Chris Hemsworth will return to ‘Star Trek 4’.
The 32-year-old actor played George Kirk in J.J. Abrams’ first ‘Star Trek’ movie in 2009 but his character was killed off in the opening sequence of the rebooted film franchise.
However, the director has now revealed that George, the father that Captain James T. Kirk [played by Chris Pine] never knew, will make a return.
Access Hollywood’s Scott Mantz tweeted: "BREAKING!! #JJAbrams confirms to me that a 4th #StarTrek movie will bring together #ChrisPine & #ChrisHemsworth!! (sic)"
J.J. also hinted about it during a press conference and said: "There’s something that hopefully we’re figuratively minutes away from talking about. The answer is 100 percent yes, and it’s incredibly exciting."
George heroically gave his own life to save more than 800 others when his ship was crashing after being attacked by aliens – as his son was being born on earth.
The third film ‘Star Trek Beyond’ is out later this week and Chris Pine admitted he felt responsible to protect the ‘Star Trek’ legacy.
The 35-year-old actor thinks his co-star Simon Pegg was the right choice to pen the script for the latest big screen outing because he has "respect" for the original series.
He said: "The thing that we’ve always managed to take care of is that balance between an energy and respecting the legacy. We know we wouldn’t be anywhere without the ‘Star Trek’ fans, they kept us alive all these years and even before we got there.
"So we have a duty to respect their love for it but we also I hope they enjoy the fact that we have a responsibility to invite new members so Simon was a perfect fit for it."
