Coronation Street ‘to reintroduce old cast members’

‘Coronation Street’ bosses are reportedly planning to bring back old characters to create more story lines for the soap.
As the ITV soap moves to six shows a week, bosses have decided to reintroduce some of the more recognisable characters from years gone by, including Toyah Battersby, Brian Packman and Daniel Osbourne.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "The cast has to expand to take on more storylines so these three are back.
"They’ve had good storylines before and will definitely stir up some trouble."
The three returning cast members will all appear on air before the extra show is introduced in autumn 2017.
Meanwhile, Paula Lane revealed recently she found it "so hard" telling her co-star Jack P. Shepherd she was leaving ‘Coronation Street’ for good.
The actress, who played Kylie Platt in the soap, admitted she really struggled to bring herself to tell the hunk – who plays her on-screen husband David Platt – she was going forever.
She explained: "It’s heartbreaking because I could see David and Kylie lasting a lifetime. She’ll forever be in David’s heart because she didn’t go by choice.
"When I told Jack I was going, it was so hard. He’s laid back but you could see it landed with him, as it did with me. It’s tough when someone you’ve worked with for six years turns around and says, ‘I’m going and I won’t ever be coming back.’"
