Julianne Moore: My kids leave ‘regular’ lives

Julianne Moore’s children lead "regular" lives.
The ‘Still Alice’ star – who has 14-year-old daughter Liv and 18-year-old son Caleb with her husband Bart Freundlich – keeps her kids grounded by ensuring they get to spend all their free time being children rather than working.
She said: "They live a regular life. I make breakfast for them, my husband drives them to school and we all go to basketball games. Both my kids play a lot of basketball – my son’s a really, really good player.
"We have family vacations. We’re involved in their lives and they don’t have jobs. I don’t think it’s a good thing for kids to work."
And the 55-year-old actress – who is portraying a divorcee in her latest film ‘Maggie’s Plan’ – admits relationships can be "challenging" but says she feels lucky to have been married to Bart since 2003.
She added to Australia’s Sunday Style magazine: "I don’t know. Ask anyone who has been divorced, they will tell you it’s miserable. I think it’s hard, no matter what. Relationships are challenging. It’s important not to be black and white about it.
"Some people make it through, and some don’t, and some people split up and wish they hadn’t. And some people stay together and wish they hadn’t. There are so many variables, and I am not an expert!"
Meanwhile, Julianne previously admitted she doesn’t think marriage should feel like "work".
She said: "I hate to call it work because it should be pleasurable, right? I think it takes effort, but I don’t think it should be ‘work’ because that sounds miserable.
"Bart always makes me laugh. I was about to go into a meeting yesterday and he sent me a text. I was laughing so hard I started to cry; I had to pull myself together before I went in."
