Adele pays tribute to Prince at Minnesota gig

Adele paid tribute to Prince at her concert in his hometown of Minnesota on Tuesday night (05.07.16).
The ‘Hello’ hitmaker was performing the opening night of the North American leg of her ‘Adele Live Tour 2016’ at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, and projected the late music icon’s 1994 music video for ‘The Most Beautiful Girl In the World’ on a screen.
However, those expecting the 28-year-old songstress – who has a three-year-old son, Angelo, with long-term partner Simon Konecki – to perform a cover of a Prince track would have been disappointed, as she didn’t feel worthy enough to do a rendition of one of his songs.
She told the crowd: "I did maybe consider covering a song, but f*** it, It’s Prince."
The ‘Purple Rain’ hitmaker tragically passed away in April at the age of 57, at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota.
Elsewhere, Adele paid homage to Bob Dylan before performing her version of his song ‘Make You Feel My Love’.
Before nailing the song, she said: "Since we are in Minnesota, we must pay homage."
However, moments into the song she halted as she had forgot to ask the crowd to switch their phone lights on to create an atmosphere.
She laughed, "Oh, s**t, stop, stop, stop", before continuing the song.
The chatterbox singer introduced almost every song with her witty comments.
Before performing ‘When We Were Young’, the British star told of how she struggled with balancing being a mother and a megastar.
Adele’s set included songs from her entire back catalogue from ‘Chasing Pavements’ and ‘Someone Like You’ – from her debut LP ’19’ – to ‘Sweetest Devotion’ and ‘Million Years Ago’ from her biggest-selling album ’25’.

Adele’s Minnesota set-list was as follows:

‘Hello’
Hometown Glory’
‘One and Only’
‘Rumour Has It’
‘Water Under the Bridge’
‘I Miss You’
‘Skyfall’
‘Million Years Ago’
‘Don’t You Remember’
‘Send My Love (to Your New Lover)’
‘Make You Feel My Love’
‘Sweetest Devotion’
‘Chasing Pavements’
‘Someone Like You’
‘Set Fire to the Rain’

Encore
‘All I Ask’
‘When We Were Young’
‘Rolling in the Deep’
