Gleb Savchenko quits Strictly to ‘help marriage’

Gleb Savchenko reportedly quit ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ for the sake of his marriage.
The Russian professional dancer sensationally walked away from the BBC’s flagship show yesterday after just one series and is said to have told pals he had to leave to help his relationship with wife Elena Samodanova.
According to The Sun newspaper, Gleb – who has a four-year-old daughter Olivia with Elena – is worried about the "curse of ‘Strictly’" striking again so thought it would be best to leave.
He said of his departure: "I thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the last series of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ and especially the way that the UK gave me such a warm welcome but due to family commitments I won’t be returning to the show for the next series – I’ll definitely be tuning in though."
Last year, Gleb partnered TV presenter Anita Rani and the pair made it through to the semi-finals.
Thanks to his good looks and risque dance moves, Gleb, 32, became hugely popular with the ‘Strictly’ audience and many viewers have been devastated by his decision not to return.
‘Strictly’ has become famed for his relationship "curse" with many marriages and romances breaking up during and after the series.
And Gleb isn’t the only professional to have quit.
Ola Jordan, Aliona Vilani and Kristina Rihanoff have all decided not to return and earlier this year Gleb spoke of his sadness at their decision.
He said: "They are three of the girls who had the most training and they have been very, very good.
"All three girls have amazing experience at teaching someone who has never danced before and making the most out of it."
