Top Gear to get new producer

The BBC is reportedly advertising for a new ‘Top Gear’ producer to take control away from Chris Evans.
The revamped motoring show was launched last month but it has failed to impress viewers and critics and insiders believe taking creative control away from main presenter Chris will give it the boost it needs.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Chris was in complete creative control for a long time and it hasn’t worked. The fact that the BBC is now hiring shows real intent, that it’s about being an ensemble and not all about Chris."
Bosses are believed to have advertised internally for the position.
The source added: "They are clearly very embarrassed by all of this and are not advertising the job externally."
A spokesperson for ‘Top Gear’ said: "We’re adding a Series Producer to the team because Top Gear is a huge show and we have even greater ambitions for the next series."
The news comes after it was claimed Matt Le Blanc will walk away from the show unless Chris is replaced.
The former ‘Friends’ star joined the programme’s presenting team alongside Chris earlier this year, but the new-look show has been undermined by rumours of infighting, with Matt said to be frustrated by the flame-haired presenter’s on-set attitude.
A source said: "The big question now is who goes and who stays.
"The team does not gel at all, and the atmosphere between the presenters is decidedly frosty. It’s very much a picture of him – Chris – and them.
"Matt has already indicated that he won’t continue on any further series if Chris remains a part of it. And he is far from the only one who isn’t happy."
