Beyoncé is 45 minutes late to Sunderland gig

Beyoncé turned up 45 minutes late to her concert at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light on Tuesday (28.06.16).
The ‘Lemonade’ hitmaker was performing the opening night of the European leg of her ‘Formation World Tour’ in the city in North East of England and didn’t arrive on stage until 8.40pm, almost an hour after she was expected to perform.
The R&B superstar didn’t give an explanation for the delay however, it’s believed torrential rain caused major delays on the roads.
However, the show must go on and Beyoncé arrived on stage dressed in a sexy black leotard with masses of backing dancer’s in matching outfits.
And so eager fans, who had been chanting Queen Bey’s name for the entire time, soon forgave the brunette beauty who treated fans to an extended set of two-hours-long with an impressive 30 songs from her entire back catalogue.
The singer kept talking to a minimum, but did ask the crowd if they were going to "slay tonight".
She told the audience of 50,000 Beyhives: "If you slay tonight every day say, I slay! If you are proud of who you are and where you come from, say I slay!".
Beyoncé played ‘Sorry’ and ‘Don’t Hurt Yourself’ from her latest LP ‘Lemonade’ with clips of videos from the visual album played on a giant screen behind her.
And for the die hard fans she played old songs including ‘Me, Myself and I’ and had the crowd no doubt shed a few tears during an emotional performance of ‘Love on Top’.
Between performing ‘1 + 1’ and ‘Crazy in Love’ Beyoncé paid tribute to Prince with his song ‘Purple Rain’ played as an interlude.
She ended the set on a high note with a spine-tingling performance of ‘Halo’.
