Zara Holland: I let my mother down with on-screen romp

Zara Holland felt she let her mother down when she had sex on television.
The former Miss Great Britain is disappointed in herself for sleeping with housemate Alex Bowen during her stint on ‘Love Island’ as she desperately didn’t want to upset her mother.
She told the new issue of OK! magazine: "I still can’t quite believe it now, because it’s been such a massive part of my life and I’ve worked so hard for it. Losing the title was just the worst thing that’s ever happened to me. The Miss Great Britain organisation didn’t say anything to me. They wrote a permission letter to ITV2 saying, ‘We fully support Zara going into Love Island.’
"Before I even went into the villa, my mum said, ‘Don’t sleep with anybody.’ So I let my mum down, and that really still upsets me. I haven’t committed a crime, I haven’t done anything to hurt anyone, but yes, I made this mistake. I’ve accepted that and we have to move forward now."
However, Zara previously insisted she doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with having sex on television.
She said: "I’ve done nothing wrong. All women have needs. There is nothing wrong with having sex on TV. I knew what I was signing up for – it is ‘Love Island’. I am a 20-year-old girl who was in the moment. There are lots of girls my age who go out every week and do that, mine was just on national TV. I haven’t committed a crime so why should I have my title taken from me? It’s horrific."
