Adam Thomas kept his fiancée’s engagement ring in his car.
The ‘Emmerdale’ hunk – known for playing Adam Barton in the long-running soap – recently popped the question to his lover Caroline Daly following eight years of dating but has admitted it was a struggle keeping the sparkler hidden.
He explained: "I got the ring in Dubai. A friend was on holiday and I asked him to collect the ring when he was out there. That was three months ago. It was an absolute nightmare trying to keep it hidden. It was in my car, then at my friend’s house. At one point it was in a shed. I just needed to keep it hidden."
The 27-year-old actor got down on one knee during a romantic holiday to Dubai last month and he made sure he pulled out all the stops for his beautiful partner.
He said: "The Jumeirah Beach in Dubai did wonders, I just booked it all through them. It was amazing, we had a really private spot on the beach."
But, although the proposal took place abroad, the loved-up couple – who have 21-month-old son Teddy together – are planning to get hitched in front of their friends and family in the UK next year.
Adam said: "I think we’d like to do it next year but it’s finding the venue and getting it all sorted."
When asked if the ceremony will take place in the UK, Caroline added to OK! magazine: "I think so – we’d want everyone to be there, like my grandparents."
