Jude Law snubbed Superman role

Jude Law turned down the role of Superman.
The 43-year-old actor was wanted to play the Man of Steel for 2006 film ‘Superman Returns, which served as a homage sequel to the Christopher Reeve movies.
However, Jude decided the project just didn’t "float his boat" and refused the opportunity and the role of the DC Comics character eventually went to Brandon Routh.
During an interview on ‘The Late Show With Stephen Colbert’, he revealed: "This was a while ago. So, you remember they were rebooting, they rebooted ‘Superman’, not this last time with Henry Cavill. They did it once before … So, I was approached and at the time, I don’t know, it just didn’t float my boat. I just didn’t really want to go there."
The ‘Sherlock Holmes’ star didn’t feel comfortable taken on the role as the Son of Krypton and his alter ego Clark Kent because he’s British and the character is American.
And he was also worried about how he would look in a ski-tight costume.
He added: "I’m an Englishman! I felt like it just didn’t seem to fit."
But, when pressed for a reason why he turned the role down, he revealed that the biggest factor in his decision wasn’t down to nationality or busy schedules … And I was always worried about the outfit. I just didn’t fancy it […] I take the suit into the bathroom and I’m putting it on and then I look round and I’m in the mirror and then suddenly I’m Superman right? Then I have this picture of me in that costume in posters all around the world and I was like, ‘No way.’ And I unzipped it. I was Superman for two minutes. That’s enough."
