Ad for Quentin Tarantino’s new movie calls ‘whores’ to audition

Quentin Tarantino’s new movie is looking for "whores".
The legendary filmmaker has caused controversy after an advert was reportedly placed on a Los Angeles-based casting agency site for his new production project, and appeared to ask for prostitutes to audition.
It read: "Casting Whores for Quentin Tarantino project. Caucasian, non-union females, ages 18-35. Western film shoots June 21st-25th in Los Angeles.
"No highlights, natural eyebrows, natural breasts, natural hair color to be true to the period. Dress sizes 2-8. Please send photo, including sizes.(sic)"
The advert has now been taken down after a feminist blog titled Women and Hollywood pointed out it was offensive.
According to Women and Hollywood who reached out to the agency – who they chose not to name – the use of the word "whores" came directly from the script.
The blog said: "The use of the word ‘whore’ to describe these roles is degrading. The fact that casting announcements frequently use the word is indicative of an ongoing problem in the film industry."
It’s not clear which forthcoming Tarantino project sparked the controversial ad, but it is believed to be one which will be directed by a woman.
Meanwhile, ‘The Hateful Eight’ director – whose other credits include ‘Pulp Fiction’ and ‘Kill Bill’ – recently revealed his whole back catalogue of films are connected.
He said: ""There is actually two separate universes. There is the realer than real universe, alright, and all the characters inhabit that one. But then there’s this movie universe. So ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’, ‘Kill Bill’, they all take place in this special movie universe. So when all the characters of ‘Reservoir Dogs’ or ‘Pulp Fiction’, when they go to the movies, ‘Kill Bill’ is what they go to see. ‘From Dusk Till Dawn’ is what they see.
"I don’t want to say it point blank ‘boom!’, but if you’re a fan of my work and are familiar with it you could be a bit of a detective."
However, the 52-year-old director didn’t want to divulge too much information about specific links to keep up the mystery surrounding his movies.
He added: "I will say that there is one character amongst the eight that is related to one of my other characters in one of my other films.I can’t explain the relation because that would tip my hat a little bit too much.
"The only other clue I can give … is that the actor was originally cast as that character in the other film but they weren’t able to do it due to a scheduling conflict."
