Gigi Hadid is a good girlfriend

Gigi Hadid has "always" been a good girlfriend.
The 21-year-old model – whose romance with Zayn Malik has been speculated to be on the rocks – picked up the Our New Girlfriend prize at Spike TV’s 10th annual Guys’ Choice Awards on Saturday (04.06.16) and claimed she had never done anything "mean" to one of her crushes.
She said: "I thought I was gonna come and wing [my speech] and be good.
"But then I woke up early this morning and thought, ‘Gigi, there is no way you’re going to be calm or cool in front of Kobe ever in your life.’ So I called a friend and I said, ‘What do I say that is funny?’ [And she said], ‘Try and think of something you did mean to a crush in middle school or try and make a joke about that.’ But I was like, ‘I have always been a good girlfriend, even when in middle school when I have had crushes I have always been kind of nice.’"
Gigi follows in the footsteps of stars including Chrissy Teigen, Kate Upton and Emily Ratajkowski in picking up the award.
The ceremony will air on Spike TV on Thursday, June 9.
Although it was claimed Gigi and Zayn ended their seven-month romance last week, sources close to them have insisted that they remain a couple.
An insider told Just Jared: "Gigi and Zayn are still together. The break-up reports are completely false. And they have met each other’s families despite the false reports circulating."
This claim comes after Gigi posted a Snapchat of herself singing Zayn’s song, ‘Pillowtalk’ over the weekend, while at the Maybelline New York LA Beauty Bash she hosted at The Line Hotel in Los Angeles.
And Gigi earlier posted a picture of a card with the message "I know it’s obvious but I love you," and added a smiley face.
Although it was reported that Gigi and Zayn had ended their romance, friends insisted it was likely that they would reconcile.
A source previously said: "Zayn and Gigi did break up, but they can likely get back together tomorrow. It’s all very unclear what’s going on between them now. They been having some issues lately that involved communication and getting along.
"Gigi is really sad about this, though, and in a way would like to work it out. It’s more about that constant contact with Zayn that she misses and they did get very close."
The pair have reportedly been off and on recently and had a huge fight at Gigi’s birthday party in Los Angeles in April.
An insider explained: "During her birthday they were fighting. They have broken up and got back together a few times."
