Mel B: ‘Victoria wishes her mic was turned off’

Mel B has denied Victoria Beckham’s claims that her microphone was turned off when she performed with the Spice Girls.
Although the 42-year-old fashion designer previously said Emma Bunton, Geri Horner, Mel C and Mel B were left to take the lead while she was inaudible, Mel, 41, insists she knows nothing about it and suggested Victoria might have asked for her own sound to be disabled.
She told Entertainment Tonight: "She wishes it was turned off!
"We sung live, and we wrote and recorded all our music together live and we performed it live. It wasn’t turned down. Not that I know of. Maybe she secretly asked for that – I don’t know about that."
Victoria previously said: "They used to turn it off and just let the others sing. I got the last laugh – and now my mic is well and truly on, finally."
However, she still went on to enjoy solo success with four top 10 singles after the Spice Girls went on indefinite hiatus in 2000.
Meanwhile, Mel confirmed the band are working on a celebration for their 20th anniversary but ruled out a joint concert with the Backstreet Boys.
She said: "It’s an ongoing thing we keep talking about, and it is our 20th anniversary, so we’re going to do something.
"We’re just trying to figure that out right now. There will be something happening."
"We want the stage to ourselves if we’re going to do it! But, I love the Backstreet Boys. They’re great."
