Prince Harry ‘told off’ for not wearing a tie

Britain’s Prince Harry was jokingly told off for not wearing a tie as he met D-Day veterans.
The 31-year-old royal turned up to meet 45 veterans at Southwick House in Portsmouth to commemorate the anniversary of the Normandy invasion but found himself slightly underdressed.
When he arrived, he asked John Phipps, founder of the D-Day Revisited charity: "Are they all wearing ties in there? I should have worn a tie. Oh well, it’s too late now."
And when he was jokingly told off by Para Squadron Royal Engineers alumni Ivor Anderson for looking casual, he told him: "I was told not to wear a tie and then you all turn up wearing ties, I feel under-dressed."
After the meeting, the 91-year-old veteran revealed he tried to lend the Prince a tie.
He added: "I told him he should wear a bloody tie. I said I had a spare one, he said he couldn’t wear mine because he didn’t have his wings."
The veterans are set to travel over to France to mark the anniversary of the invasion and Prince Harry has offered them some advice for their trip away.
He told them: "I have so much respect for you guys – running off a boat on to those beaches. [When you get to France], don’t get into trouble and if you do, don’t get caught."
