Amber Heard brought home just $51,461 last year.
The 30-year-old actress filed for divorce from Johnny Depp – who she has alleged has physically assaulted her – last week after 15 months of marriage and is seeking $50,000 a month in spousal support, and now court documents have laid bare Amber’s own financial situation.
According to Us Weekly magazine, papers filed at Los Angeles Superior Court show she earned $259,876 in 2005 but after expenses including car and medical insurance and agents fees of just over $35,000, her take-home earnings were considerably lower.
Amber earned $31,112 for her role in ‘The Danish Girl’, $65,000 for ‘Magic Mike XXL’ and $45,314 for ‘Paranoia, the documents showed, while she also brought in income from endorsements, including $120,000 from Tiffany & Co. and $50,000 from Bulgari.
Her average monthly expenses totalled $43,700 and included $10,000 for rent, $3,000 for health care, $2,000 for groceries, $2,000 for dining out, $2,000 for clothing, $10,000 for entertainment and vacation, and an additional $10,000 for sundry costs including pet care and an agent.
Amber filed for divorce on May 23 and was granted a restraining order against the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor – whose mother Betty Sue Palmer died on May 20 – four days later.
However, the 52-year-old star’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, has argued Amber is trying to secure financial gain with her claims and asked a judge to reject her requests.
A representative of the star said recently: "Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life.
"Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."
Legal representatives for the actress have claimed she "suffered through years of physical and psychological abuse at the hands of Johnny" and didn’t speak out in an attempt to "keep this matter as private as possible."
