Nicole Kidman will adapt the off-broadway vampire drama ‘Cuddles’.
The ‘Secret in Their Eyes’ actress has purchased the rights through her company Blossom Films to make a movie from the thriller written by playwright Joseph Wilde.
Speaking of the young British writer, she said: "Joe’s voice is so beautifully subversive. He’s exactly the kind of young writer Blossom is looking to support."
‘Cuddles’ explores "the strange and disturbing forms love can take" and asks how you live with a "monster" that is your own flesh and blood, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The story revolves around a teenage vampire called Eve, who has never seen the outside world.
Everything Eve knows about the world comes from what her human sister Tabby has told her and the youngster thrives off reading fantasy novels, where fictional characters like Harry Potter, Bilbo Baggins and the cast of Dante’s Inferno are real.
Eve stays healthy by drinking her human sister’s blood but Tabby tires of opening her veins and Eve’s world changes.
The play was originally put on in London before it transferred to New York where it got rave reviews and caught the eye of the Hollywood beauty.
Kidman, 48, will produce with Blossom partner Per Saari.
