Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber lead Teen Choice Award nominations

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber lead the music nominees for this year’s Teen Choice Awards.
The former couple – who dated on and off for five years – are up for three nominations each, Choice Female Artist and Choice Male Artist respectively as well as Choice Female Hottie and Choice Male Hottie.
Justin’s track ‘Sorry’ will battle it out with former One Direction star Zayn Malik’s ‘PILLOWTALK’ and Nick Jonas’ ‘Close’ whilst Selena’s ‘Hands To Myself’ will take on her close pal Taylor Swift’s track ‘New Romantics’ as well as facing stiff competition from Adele, Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato and Meghan Trainor.
Elsewhere in the music categories, 5 Seconds of Summer, Fifth Harmony and One Direction will compete with DNCE, Fall Out Boy and The Chainsmokers to be named Choice Music Group whilst Beyoncé, Drake and Iggy Azalea will hope to snatch the Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Artist award from either Jason Derulo, Nicki Minaj or The Weeknd.
In the movies section, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ and ‘Deadpool’ lead the nominations with four a piece.
Comic stars dominate the Choice Movie Actor: Sci-Fi/Fantasy category with Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill, who play the lead characters in ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, going head to head once again whilst Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr., who play Captain America and Iron Man in ‘Captain America: Civil War’, also join the battle.
Other notable nominations in the movies section include Bond movie ‘SPECTRE’ and a nod for ‘The Jungle Book’s Mowgli – Neel Sethi. Leonardo DiCaprio could round off a fantastic awards season with a gong for Choice Movie Actor: Drama but will have to fight off competition from ‘Room’s Jacob Tremblay and ‘The Martian’s Matt Damon.
In the television category, ‘Pretty Little Liars’ leads the way with six nominations – one for Choice TV Show: Drama as well as a nod for lead characters Ashley Benson (Hanna Marin), Troian Bellisario (Spencer Hastings) and the three supporting male characters, Tyler Blackburn (Caleb Rivers), Ian Harding (Ezra Fitz) and Keegan Allen (Toby Cavanaugh), who will battle to be crowned Choice TV Actor: Drama.
Jennifer Lopez gets a nod for ‘Shades of Blue’ whilst ‘Kerry Washington’ joins her in the Choice TV Actress: Drama category for ‘Scandal’.
‘Supernatural’ and ‘The Vampire Diaries’ battle it out in the Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV section whilst ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ will fight it out with ‘The Voice’ to be crowned Choice TV: Reality Show.
Ellen DeGeneres, James Corden, Jimmy Fallon and Kevin Hart are just some of the stars battling it out for Choice Comedian.
The ‘Teen Choice Awards’ will take place on Sunday July 31. Voting is open now and will continue until June 2 at TeenChoice.com, on the FOX NOW app, and via Twitter.
