Naomi Watts admires Jake Gyllenhaal

Naomi Watts thinks Jake Gyllenhaal is one of the "most talented" actors of his generation
The 47-year-old actress had a "lot of fun" working with the 35-year-old star on their new movie ‘Demolition’ – in which she plays a customer care representative whose path crosses with that of Jake’s troubled widower Davis – and is fascinated by the "innovative" actor’s career path.
She said: "I knew him – not well, but certainly was acquainted. We’d never spoken in depth about working together, it was just very fortuitous that it happened.
"Jake is one of those actors who is on an innovative path.
"His next move is so difficult to predict, he goes with such ease from one corner to the next traversing different terrain every time.
"And he’s wildly talented – there’ no escaping from the fact that he’s easily one of this generation’s most talented. And he’s a lot of fun to be around."
Though Naomi -who has sons Sasha, eight, and Samuel, seven, with husband Liev Schreiber- admits there isn’t an "abundance" of roles for actresses her age, she thinks the parts there are are a lot more fulfilling than those offered to younger women.
She told Britain’s HELLO! magazine: "I don’t want to curse myself by saying this but I’m going to, I guess. Things are pretty OK for me.
"There aren’t an abundance of roles but things are OK. I strongly believe the roles over 40 are far more in-depth, far more developed.
"There’s experience, there’s kids, and younger women in their 20s… there’s not a lot of life under their belt."
