Demi Lovato won’t back down in Taylor Swift feud

Demi Lovato has no regrets about her feud with Taylor Swift and insists she won’t take "s**t from anybody".
The ‘Stone Cold’ singer and the ‘Wildest Dreams’ hitmaker had a Twitter spat about their friend Kesha’s legal battle with Sony producer Dr. Luke, with Demi criticising Taylor for donating $250,000 to the ‘Tik Tok’ star to help pay her legal fees but not speaking out about the battle and Kesha’s accusation of sexual assault.
Demi has now addressed the row and hinted the two are no longer pals.
On her disagreement with Taylor, Demi said: "I’m not going to stop saying what I believe in. I have no problem standing up for myself. Maybe I got it from growing up in Texas, but I never took s**t from anybody. Now I know how to do it without pushing people away. You just don’t approach things with a ‘F**k You’ mentality. Instead it’s: This is the way I’m perceiving things. There’s nothing wrong with my beliefs or feelings. So let’s agree to disagree, or let’s just disagree."
Demi, 23, also seemed to throw shade at 26-year-old Taylor – who is an outspoken advocate of feminism – by stating those who "brand" themselves a feminist shouldn’t do so if they don’t actively stand up for women’s rights.
Speaking to Refinery29, she said: "Listen, there’s nothing positive that comes from pitting women against each other. There are women that I don’t get along with, and that’s fine. My thing is, don’t brand yourself a feminist if you don’t do the work. I have an immense amount of respect for women like Lena Dunham … or Beyoncé, who make amazing political statements through their work."
However, Demi does admit she did get carried away with her tweets at the time of their falling out.
She said: "I got too passionate. I get carried away on Twitter, and that’s what I said, and that’s that."
One of Demi’s tweets at the time, read: "Not everyone has 250k to just give to people. Would love to but I didn’t grow up with money and def haven’t made as much as her. At least I speak about s*** that’s uncomfortable to talk about rather than trying to be politically correct 24/7. (sic)"
