Trudie Styler feels ‘peaceful’ as a director

Trudie Styler has found peace as a director.
The 62-year-old actress and film producer, who is married to rockstar Sting, 64, has made her directorial debut on the upcoming drama ‘Freak Show’ and says her attention deficit disorder (ADD) has helped her succeed in the project because it makes her a "great multi-tasker".
Speaking about her condition – that generally makes a person impulsive or hyperactive – she said: "It’s actually an empowering thing. I think one of the best things about having ADD is that you’re a great multi-tasker. It’s made me feel happy. I’m very peaceful as a director."
Laverne Cox stars as a journalist called Felicia in the American LGBT movie, which centres on teenager Billy Bloom (Alex Lawther), who, despite attending an ultra conservative high school, makes the decision to run for homecoming queen.
Bette Midler and Abigail Breslin make up the cast of the film, which has now finished shooting.
Trudie is delighted with the outcome and says she feels "blessed" by the fact her husband Sting – who she married in 1992 and went on to have daughters Mickey, 32, and Coco, 25, and sons Jake, 30 and Giacomo, 20 – has supported her throughout the project.
Speaking about her life with the ‘Shape of My Heart’ singer she said: "He came to the set a lot. He popped into the editing room the other day. I’m very blessed. I have a wonderful life. Sting is a marvellous husband who has provided for me and my family. We are together more than we ever were. He does fewer tours than he used to and I get back home sooner than I would. You just want to be with each other."
Trudie’s production company Xingu Films recently made ‘American Honey’, which stars Shia LaBeouf and has been nominated for the prestigious Palme d’Or at Cannes Film Festival.
Of Shia, Trudie told The Sun newspaper: "He’s complex. But you can’t minimise his talent and in everything that he does he always portrays his character so well."
