Kris Jenner had ‘major role’ in Kanye proposal

Kris Jenner claims she played a "major role" in planning Kanye West’s proposal to Kim Kardashian.

The showbiz matriarch insists she was "directly involved" in arranging the lavish engagement at San Francisco’s AT&T Park last October and had a key role in getting all their loved ones together.

In a court declaration in Kim and Kanye’s lawsuit against YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley – who they claim illegally leaked footage of the proposal – Kris said: "I played a major role in organising and running the event.

"As part of this. I was directly involved in formulating and was familiar with the guest list."

In her declaration, Kris went on to say Chad had attended the proposal "event" – which boasted a 50-piece orchestra, champagne and fireworks – with an invited guest, but was not a friend of the family.

In documents obtained by RadarOnline.com, she said: "[Chad] did show up with someone else who was an invited guest, bur Mr. Hurley was not invited by the organisers of the event.

"He was not even invited to attend; Kim and Kanye did not know him.

"We would not have been upset in the least if he had to leave — or never even attended in the first place — and he had not earned the trust of Kim, Kanye, or me."

The couple had sold the rights to broadcast the proposal – which aired recently on ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ – at a high price on an "exclusive basis" and in her declaration, Kim insisted the leaked footage would "diminish" the value of the official film.

She went on to add: "There were certainly tweets and other written messages about the event and a small number of snapshot photos and other brief images appeared, but there were no photos of the marriage proposal itself.

"Importantly, there were certainly no videos of the marriage proposal that were publicly broadcast at the time that Mr. Hurley posted his video footage."

A hearing has been set for March 18, to determine if the lawsuit will proceed to trial.
