Chris Martin doubts the’ll be another ‘conventional Coldplay album

Chris Martin doesn’t think there will be "another conventional Coldplay album".
The 39-year-old songwriter – who is joined by Guy Berryman, Jonny Buckland and Will Champion in the band – considers the group’s most recent LP, seventh studio release ‘A Head Full of Dreams’, to be the end of something and he thinks their current world tour feels like the "closing chapter of something".
In an interview with Zane Lowe for his Apple Beats 1 radio show, he said: "I’d be surprised if there was another conventional Coldplay album. I just feel like we’re right where we’re supposed to be right now. I meant what I said to you a couple of years ago I feel like this is a closing chapter of something. I stand by that I’m afraid."
Chris – has daughter Apple, 11, and son Moses, 10, with his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow – doubts the group will "split up" he thinks it might be a good time for them to sit back and decide what they should do or could do next.
He added: "I don’t think we’d split up as a band so hopefully we’ll try to work out something to do at some point. But also part of me right now just feels like yeah seven albums, that’s great and they form a kind of circle and they all make sense to me now and I feel really proud of them. We’re comfortable with being who we are at the moment. I think when we let go of the idea we had to try and win everyone over I think that was really liberating."
In June, Coldplay will be headlining the Glastonbury Festival for a record-making fourth time and also have a string of sell-out dates at London’s Wembley Stadium.
