Zayn Malik and Adele to be transformed into Newzoids puppets

Zayn Malik and Adele will feature on ‘Newzoids’ second series.
The former One Direction singer and the ‘Hello’ hitmaker are among 50 stars who will be transformed into puppets for the new season of the topical sketch show, which tackles the week’s news events using state of the art animation.
Bear Grylls and Donald Trump will also feature when the programme returns later this year.
Saskia Schuster, ITV’s Comedy Commissioning Editor, said: "’Newzoids’ first series proved to be funny, fresh and biting, creating its very own surreal world of politics and celebrity.
"I look forward to meeting the many new ‘Newzoids’ puppet creations… celebrities and MPs beware, nobody is safe!"
The first six-episode series – starring impressionists Jon Culshaw and Debra Stephenson – featured some of the world’s most recognisable faces in puppet form, including Beyoncé, Harry Styles and British prime minister David Cameron, as well as Simon Cowell, And & Dec and Wayne Rooney.
And a puppet version of the Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to a royal baby on ‘Newzoids’.
The sketch featured Catherine and her husband Prince William in a ‘Call The Midwife’ inspired episode in which their puppet counterparts played out the birth of their second child, Princess Charlotte.
Speaking about the decision to commission the show last year, Elaine Bedell, the director of entertainment and comedy for ITV, explained: "ITV has a rich history of playing popular satirical comedy in peak time on its main channel, and it seemed a good time to revive it this year.
"We are pleased to be adding to our growing comedy portfolio with this funny and biting look at the world of politics and celebrity."
‘Newzoids’ has been described as a "groundbreaking mixture of low-tech traditional puppetry and state of the art animation puts a satirical and surreal spin on the stories and celebrities we read about every day".
