Twilight author Stephenie Meyer makes Anna Dressed In Blood

‘Twilight’ author Stephenie Meyer is creating a new film franchise entitled ‘Anna Dressed In Blood’.
The best-selling writer of the book series, which focused on a love story between vampire Edward Cullen and human Bella Swan and adapted into five smash hit movies, is set to offer a new supernatural romance to eager teenage audiences.
‘Anna Dressed In Blood’ is based on the Young Adult novel penned by Kendare Blake which Meyer obtained the rights and developed through her production company Fickle Fish Films.
The story – the first tome in a two-book series – focuses on a young man, Cas Lowood, who is following in his father’s footsteps as a killer of the dead after his dad is murdered by a ghost.
His travels lead him to find Anna, a dead girl who is unlike any ghost he has ever encountered.
The two become close and help each other deal with their complex pasts and presents.
Meyer carried out an extensive search to find the movie’s two lead cast and settled on rising stars Maddie Hasson and Cameron Monaghan.
Maddie, 21, rose to fame in television series ‘The Finder’ but has already made the transition into feature length films and will be seen next in Hank Williams biopic ‘I Saw The Light’ alongside Tom Hiddleston and Elizabeth Olsen when it comes out in cinemas in the UK next month.
Cameron, 22, currently stars in TV comedy drama ‘Shameless’ and crime series ‘Gotham’.
The 42-year-old writer is delighted to have the pair on board and teased their chemistry "lights up the screen".
She said: "We literally searched the world for over a year to find the perfect actors to bring this genre-spanning story to life. Cameron and Maddie, both so talented individually, together have that rare and extraordinary chemistry that lights up the screen."
Trish Sie will direct the movie from a screenplay written by Allison Wood.
