David Gest spoke at his own funeral

David Gest helped mourners remember his life at his funeral on Friday (29.04.16).
The congregation – who had gathered at Golders Green crematorium in London – were shown a video tribute to the late television personality, where he spoke about some of his fondest memories including his close friendship with the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.
During the service, British actress Kym Marsh and comedienne Cleo Rocos read out tributes from David’s sister Barbara Gerber as they paid their respects to the late star, who tragically died of natural causes in a hotel room in London earlier this month.
Actress June Smith shared: "It couldn’t have been a better tribute to a flashy, fun, still modest man who did so much for charity but never blew his own trumpet about it.
"There were tears of laughter and tears of joy. Darren’s singing was beautiful. He’s an amazing man. I met David on loads of different things because I’m an actress."
Whilst his ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemate Darren Day added: "I am privileged to have met him, he is one of the best people I have met in my whole life."
More of David’s ‘Celebrity Big Brother’ housemates were in attendance at the service including Kristina Rihanoff, Gemma Collins, Stephanie Davis and her boyfriend Jeremy McConnell and Christopher Maloney.
Meanwhile, a source previously revealed David would have wanted an "uplifting" memorial.
They told BANG Showbiz: "David would have wanted something uplifting, so all his friends will be there to celebrate the joy and fun he brought to their lives. Music will play a big part because that’s what he lived for, that was his real passion."
David’s ashes are expected to be scattered in York, England because of his special affinity with the city he has lived in on multiple occasions.
