Stephen Merchant to star in Wolverine 3

Stephen Merchant has reportedly been added to the cast of ‘Wolverine 3’.
The 41-year-old actor, who is best-known for his comedic roles, is the latest big-name star to be attached to the sci-fi movie’s increasingly-impressive cast, which will also feature the likes of Sir Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman, according to Deadline.
20th Century Fox has remained tight-lipped about the exact nature of Stephen’s role in the film, which will mark Jackman’s last-ever appearance as the iconic character.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Stephen – who co-created the ‘The Office’ sitcom alongside Ricky Gervais – will not be involved with ‘David Brent: Life on the Road’, a movie spin-off of the popular TV series.
The so-called mockumentary movie follows the TV show’s central character as he travels up and down the country living out his dream of being a rock star.
However, Gervais – who has written, directed and produced the eagerly-awaited movie – previously insisted it is "not an ‘Office’ film".
He explained: "This film delves much more into his private life than ‘The Office’ ever did and we really get to peel back the layers of this extraordinary, ordinary man."
