Joe Jonas: Musicians must ‘adapt or die’ to make it

Joe Jonas says artists need to "adapt or die" to make it in the music industry.
The 26-year-old singer – who is now part of pop rock band DNCE – doesn’t mind that the industry is going more and more online but says it is "important" that new artists get the payment they deserve for their work.
He told the Independent newspaper: "I think it’s kind of adapt or die. We live in a world where everything’s online, whether it’s going to be stolen or bought or streamed so it’s important to be a part of it in some way.
"Obviously there’s concern and a lot I’d agree on, like with artists getting the right payment for what they put out there. But ultimately for us we just want to create music that we want to share with the world, so whatever that way is."
Meanwhile, Joe – who found fame as part of the Jonas Brothers with siblings Kevin, 28, and Nick, 23 – previously teased the possibility of a musical reunion with his brothers.
When asked if the band could get back together one day, he said: "Seeing where things will lead us. It’s easy to say we’re done and that we’re never doing it again, but then we both look at each other and go, ‘We obviously get along.’ And who knows – years from now we could be like, ‘All right, let’s make a record.’ It could easily happen."
