Nina Dobrev in talks for Flatliners remake

Nina Dobrev is set to star in the remake of ‘Flatliners’.
The 27-year-old actress is in talks to star in Sony’s reboot of the 1990 medical horror thriller alongside Ellen Page and Diego Luna, according to Deadline.
‘The Vampire Diaries’ star is wanted to play Marlo, an overachieving student who is the top of her class.
Niels Arden Oplev – who directed the original Swedish film adaptation of ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’ – is taking control of the project and will shoot the film from a screenplay written by ‘Source Code’ screenwriter Ben Ripley.
The original movie starred Julia Roberts, Kiefer Sutherland, William Baldwin and Kevin Bacon among others and focused on a group of medical students who conduct near-death experiments in attempt to prove there is an afterlife, with terrifying consequences for all.
Ripley has reportedly cranked up the horror factor for the remake and has modernised the method of the experiments so the science behind the plot’s premise is accurate.
Michael Douglas and Laurence Mark are on board as producers and shooting is due to start in July.
Nina is currently filming ‘XxX: The Return of Xander’ opposite Vin Diesel and can next be seen in comedy ‘Crash Pad’, in which she stars with Domhnall Gleeson.
