Melinda Messenger forced to rush home after father is taken ill

Melinda Messenger was forced to rush home from Dublin after her father was taken seriously ill.
The 45-year-old television presenter was expected to appear at the Permanent TSB Ideal Home Show today (15.04.16) and tomorrow (16.04.16) as part of a series of presentations and panel discussions but had to rush home after her agent informed her of her father’s condition.
In a statement, she told BANG Showbiz: "I’ve loved every moment of being in Dublin but my father is very poorly so it’s only right I’m with him and my family at this time.
"Apologies to everyone I missed seeing at the show but I’ll definitely be coming back soon, everyone has been so welcoming and friendly and, since I got the news, hugely supportive."
Whilst Melinda wasn’t able to stay for the whole event, she did appear at its launch on Thursday (14.04.16), where she stunned in a red dress.
Meanwhile, whilst she attended the event alone, the ‘Cowboy Builders’ host previously gushed about her boyfriend Warren Smith, who she met whilst competing on the first series of ‘The Jump’.
She shared: "I thought it would help me win! Ha, no, we just had fun together and hit it off straight away. Without getting all gooey about it, we just clicked. It’s almost been a year now – I can’t believe it’s gone so fast."
