Max George teams up with Jason Derulo for solo album

Max George has enlisted the help of Jason Derulo to help launch his solo career.
The 27-year-old singer has been spending time in America ever since his boy band The Wanted – also including Tom Parker, Nathan Sykes, Siva Kaneswaran and Jay McGuiness – went on hiatus in 2014 and has spent the last month working with the ‘Talk Dirty’ hitmaker in a studio in Los Angeles on tracks for his debut solo record.
A source revealed to the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Max is delighted that a big name like Jason has got on board with the album."
The hunky pop star is keen to ensure his first songs as a solo artist are "top notch" and he wants to emulate the success Zayn Malik has achieved with his first post-One Direction LP ‘Mind of Mine’.
The source added: "He feels that the time is right to share his music with the world and wants the quality to be top notch. He’s hoping to burst back on to the scene with a huge, catchy hit, but there will be edgy, raw songs too.
"Max has got a great voice, a huge fan base from his boy band days and cheeky personality – which means he could be just as successful as Zayn Malik."
Max would be the third member of the boy band to embark on a solo career.
He follows in the footsteps of Nathan, whose debut single ‘Kiss Me Quick’ reached number one in the US Dance Club Songs Chart and Tom, who has three singles under his belt, ‘Undiscovered’, ‘Finally’ and ‘Lost In Your Love’.
Meanwhile, The Wanted haven’t ruled out the possibility of reuniting in the future.
Nathan told BANG Showbiz: "I don’t know. Never say never. You never know what is going to happen tomorrow or in 10 years’ time."
