Beverley Callard to make explosive return to Coronation Street

Beverley Callard is set to make an explosive return to ‘Coronation Street’ following her battle with depression.
The 59-year-old actress – who is known for playing pub landlady Liz McDonald in the soap – has been signed off work for two months as she attempts to get the mental health condition under control, but bosses are reportedly already planning her shock comeback to the Cobbles.
A source told the Daily Star newspaper: "Everyone is delighted Beverley is feeling so much better so soon. There is talk of a major storyline but it will all hinge on Beverley."
And it seems the blonde beauty can’t wait to get back into a routine and stuck into work as she told fans things are definitely on the "up" after she found a new doctor.
Taking to her Twitter account yesterday (05.04.16), she said: "Saw a new Doctor today. Got hope. I had a good day today, things are on the up. Thank you for being there. (sic)"
Beverley has always battled with depression but her latest bad bout was brought on when she ran out of one of the types of drugs she takes for the illness after they were discontinued without warning for financial reasons.
A source said recently: "Bev has been taking different medications for the last two years then suddenly one was discontinued. It affected her mental health and affected her at work. It was a surprise to people that she was suddenly quite ill again. She’s hoping an alternative can be found and wants to return to work as soon as she is better."
Beverley – who has appeared on the soap as her blonde bombshell alter-ego on and off since 1989 – is set to return to the show next month.
