Ross Kemp starts filming EastEnders return

Ross Kemp has started filming for his ‘EastEnders’ return.
The 51-year-old actor – who was last seen on the programme in late 2006 – has returned to the set of the long-running show in London today (06.04.16) to shoot his comeback scenes as bad boy Grant Mitchell.
Taking to his Twitter account last night (05.04.16), the star teased fans, writing: "Heading off to bed now, up early…got Walford work to do tomorrow! (sic)"
The investigative journalist sent fans into a meltdown last week when he announced he’d been handed his script for his forthcoming scenes and was running through the plot.
Uploading a photograph of the script on Instagram, he wrote: "Spending time getting ready for Walford #EastEnders @bbceastenders #mitchellsreunited (sic)."
Ross – who officially left the show in 1999 – will reprise his handman role for three weeks this summer as his alter-ego reunites with his siblings Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) and Sam Mitchell (Danniella Westbrook) to say goodbye to their mother Peggy Mitchell (Dame Barbara Windsor) as she tragically loses her long battle with breast cancer.
However, the talented star – who has spent the last few years working on hard-hitting documentaries – recently admitted he was riddled with nerves ahead of his return.
He said last month: "I’m panicking about everything. About whether I’ve lost the ability to learn all the lines.
"About whether I can cope with it all. The middle-class ethics I was brought up with. I worry about letting people down, letting myself down. That’s my biggest fear.
"It’s going to be like going back to sixth form. I’ve had sniper rounds go through the wall behind me, and I am quite cool under fire. I’m good at dealing with things like that. But I’m wetting myself at the thought of going back to ‘EastEnders’."
