Caitlyn Jenner is appear in the new season of ‘Transparent’.
The 66-year-old reality star has joined the cast of Amazon’s acclaimed series – which follows transgender Maura Pfefferman, played by Jeffrey Tambor, as she comes out as a woman to friends and family – much to the delight of the comedy’s creator Jill Soloway, who described her addition as a "dream come true".
Jill added: "We are all part of the same community. A lot of the transwomen who work on our show are also in her show, ‘I Am Cait’. Lots of crossover. Lots of friends."
However, she refused to give away any details of Caitlyn’s character but said she will begin filming her scenes next week.
Caitlyn – who transitioned last year – recently admitted she found it difficult saying goodbye to her former identity.
She said of her previous self: "Bruce was a good person who did a lot of good in his life, who had an absolutely amazing life, with wonderful children. When you get name changed, gender marker changed, all that kind of stuff, you know it’s the right thing to do in your heart but sometimes I did feel like I was throwing him out. And that was tough.
"It was time for this woman that’s lived inside me; it’s a chance for her to live. Let’s see what she can do with her life".
