Prince Charles has garden envy

Britain’s Prince Charles suffers from garden envy.
The 67-year-old royal has spent years working on the land at his Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire and learns a lot from studying what other people have done with their own outdoor space – but can’t help but feel frustrated when he catches sight of "better" gardens than his own.
In an interview with BBC Radio 4’s ‘Gardeners’ Question Time’ to be broadcast this afternoon (01.04.16), he said: "I’ve learnt a lot in going to look at other people’s gardens.
"This is the key, I think, before you go too far. You need to go and look.
"Every time I go to someone else’s garden I think, ‘Bother! It’s so much better than mine. How do they get their roses to do this?’ "
While gardening may be considered a gentle pursuit, it is not without its hazards and Charles revealed he almost lost part of his finger in an accident at Highgrove around 35 years ago.
He recalled: "I cut off the end of my finger banging in stakes and had to be taken to Swindon Hospital to have it sewn back on again."
The prince also offered some advice for aspiring gardeners.
He said: "Take the rough with the smooth and don’t despair".
