Zayn Malik influenced by The Beatles

Zayn Malik’s track ‘Fool For You’ was inspired by The Beatles.
The 23-year-old singer was listening to the iconic rock band’s classic 1967 hit ‘Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds’ when he was working on the single – from his forthcoming debut solo LP ‘Mind of Mine’ – and the Indian theme influenced how he approached his own song.
In an interview with NME magazine, he explained: "I was listening to a lot of John Lennon the week I got that loop. And there was this one song I got addicted to, with Indian music at the front of it, sitar, and then it becomes, like, another song."
Elsewhere, the former One Direction star revealed the meaning behind the title of his record – which is released on March 25 – and he hopes listeners will connect with the music by listening to it when they are going through different stages in their life.
He said: "It’s really reflective of the whole experience that I want to give the listener. I wanted it to be almost like a brainstorm. It’s just music and it’s just whatever you’re feeling at that moment in time."
The ‘Pillowtalk’ hitmaker hopes his music is going to give him longevity as a solo artist and hopes that he won’t just be a "one-hit wonder".
He previously said: "I don’t want to be a one-hit wonder, so I’ve got a lot of work to do."
