Reese Witherspoon went out for dinner with Nicole Kidman to celebrate her 40th birthday on Tuesday night (22.03.16).
The ‘Legally Blonde’ star enjoyed a celebratory meal with the Hollywood actress and other pals and at one point during the lavish meal she was presented with a cake packed with candles.
Reese shared a photo of her receiving her birthday treat on her Instagram account, accompanied with the caption: "This is 40 … I am one lucky gal (sic)"
The dinner date followed a star-studded party that Reese hosted to mark the milestone date on Saturday (19.03.16).
Taylor Swift performed at the bash at the Warwick in Hollywood and later on in the night Reese herself sang ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ accompanied by Nicole’s husband Keith Urban on guitar.
Other guests at the party included Jennifer Aniston and her husband Justin Theroux, Courteney Cox, Matthew McConaughey and his wife Camila Alves, Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey, Tobey Maguire and his wife Jennifer Meyer, Jason Bateman and Kate Hudson.
Reese has also received a multitude of birthday well-wishes on social media.
Chelsea Handler posted a naked selfie on Instagram to wish her friend a happy 40th, in which she was seen only wearing black socks. The comedian strategically placed her hands over breasts and private parts to protect her modesty.
Chelsea captioned the image: "Happy Birthday @reesewitherspoon (sic)"
Other stars took less extreme measures to send their love to mother-of-three Reese.
Elizabeth Banks took to Twitter to write: "The world needs smiles and love today. Happy Birthday @RWitherspoon you’re a bada*s. (sic)"
Sofia Vergara called her ‘Hot Pursuit’ co-star "inspiring", posting: "Feliz cumpleaños to this wonderfull inspiring señorita @RWitherspoon (sic)"
