Kate Wright couldn’t "escape" Dan Edgar after they split up.
‘The Only Way is Essex’ star – who rekindled her relationship in the last series after Dan called time on their five-year relationship last year – has admitted she was forced to witness her 25-year-old boyfriend on the ITVBe hit programme because she needed to be aware of his antics.
Speaking to OK! magazine about her love life, the blonde beauty – who made her debut on the series six months after Dan’s arrival in 2015 – said: "I hadn’t joined the show then, so I had to watch him hooking up with other girls on TV. I didn’t want to watch it but everywhere I went people asked me about Dan, so I felt like I had to stay in the loop.
"The last thing I wanted was for my friends to know something that I didn’t. To this day I can’t really understand why he did it. I didn’t see it coming I had a bit of a meltdown when Dan broke up with me because everywhere I went, people would ask me about him. I saw loads of stuff about him online and in the papers too, I couldn’t escape him."
The couple now believe their romance is back on track and stronger than ever – despite rowing over the time spent together in last week’s show – because they don’t want to experience being single again, although Kate has put in place strict rules for her beau to keep him in line.
She said: "I also feel like we respect each other a bit more too because we know how horrible it is to be apart. When we got back together I set him some rules and one of them was that he had to at least text me when he got home so I knew he was safe. Dan isn’t allowed to go to many events."
