Tamara Ecclestone allegedly wants a divorce.
The 31-year-old socialite is reportedly keen to kickstart proceedings to dissolve her three-marriage with Jay Rutland after their relationship hit the rocks following his arrest for allegedly helping a fugitive international drugs baron.
A source explained: "The relationship was strained before Jay’s court case but this has been the final straw. They live in the same house but are no longer in the same bedroom. She has been open that their marriage is effectively over."
But the brunette beauty doesn’t want to rush into anything as she wants to do what’s best for their daughter Sophia, two.
The insider added to The Sun newspaper: "Her first priority is protecting Sophia and upholding the family’s reputation so she won’t make any announcements in a hurry. They’re in a different place to a year ago. It’s sad to see."
The Formula 1 heiress – whose father is business magnate Bernie Ecclestone – sparked rumours her marriage had hit a bump in the road last week when she failed to support Jay when he appeared at Thames Magistrates’ Court in east London, charged with assisting cocaine trafficker James Tarrant while he was on the run in February. Jay didn’t enter a plea and is scheduled to return to court on April 6.
But their marriage seemingly took a plunge long before that as Tamara has also taken two ski holidays without Jay.
